(July 2009) On July 21, 2009, the House Education and Labor Committee will consider some of the Obama Administration’s education proposals, which have been introduced as a bill by Committee Chairman George Miller (D-CA). Click HERE for a summary of the legislation, with special attention paid to the Perkins Loan section.

The markup is expected to last most of the day, but most amendments are expected to be to the community college section and the elementary and secondary education sections. No major changes to the Perkins Loan provisions are expected to be approved, since Chairman Miller has indicated he will oppose any such changes.
