SESSION I: How
to Prepare for the Auditing Process and Third-Party Servicer Audit
Requirements |
| This session will help prepare your institution
for the auditing process. It will highlight issues raised during
a typical federal student loan audit and discuss examples of findings
in the campus-based programs. In addition, we will focus on third-party
servicer audit requirements. Finally, the session will cover student
fraud-what to look for and who to contact if a problem is suspected.

SESSION II: Collection
Management: More $$, Less Time |
| This session will focus on both in-house and third-party
collection management as well as review regulatory changes resulting
from the Spring 2002 negotiated rulemaking process. We will stress
the importance of managing the collection process from start to
finish, including managing your school's loan portfolio to ensure
that past due accounts are worked appropriately and aggressively.
In addition, this session will focus on monitoring your collection
agency accounts.

SESSION III: FERPA,
Privacy, and Social Security Number (SSN) Issues |
| This session will guide your institution on compliance
issues concerning the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act
(FERPA) and the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act. In addition, we will discuss
the requirements pertaining to the collection and use of SSNs and
the increased concern regarding identity theft that is prompting
legislative changes to further restrict the use of SSNs. Guest

SESSION IV: Bankruptcy
and Legal Issues |
| This session will focus on general bankruptcy
issues, along with a review of the process and requirements. Insight
will
be provided on the unique provisions of student loans that do not
necessarily apply to other types of receivables as well as the
special provision available to public institutions under the 11th
Amendment. With regard to legal issues, there will be a review
of the litigation requirements and tips will be provided on how
to effectively manage a litigation program on your campus.
