The Senate Appropriations Committee is currently gathering information on federal student aid programs impacted by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. The Committee will put together a supplemental appropriations bill incorporating as many needs from higher education institutions as possible. The legislation is expected to move on the Senate floor in mid-October.
