Senators Maria Cantwell (D-WA) and Norm Coleman (R-MN) are circulating a Dear Colleague letter asking Senate members to sign a letter to Chairman Conrad and Ranking Member Gregg of the Senate Budget Committee to restore funding to the Perkins Loan program in the FY08 budget. The letter rejects the Administrations proposal to eliminate the program and urges funding at the FY07 level as well as restoring the Federal Capital Contribution funds.

This is an extremely important letter and we need to do everything we can to encourage signatures! Please help in the effort to get signatures on this letter! We need to grab the chance to get Perkins Loan funding restored!

Please call your Senators, and ask them to sign the letter being circulated by these two Senate members supporting the Federal Perkins Loan Program. Be sure to ask them to let you know if they have done so. The deadline for signatures is Friday March 9th.
